Down and Out

Down and Out. That is the state of the Democratic Party in New York. After coming perilously close to losing the Governor’s race, they are left to pick up the pieces. 3 congressional seats were flipped by the GOP. The majority in the state legislature was diminished. There is outright rebellion against chairman Jay Jacobs. He is the scapegoat bearing the blame for the debacle. Meanwhile the Republicans hold their heads high. Their candidate Zeldin nearly unseated Hochul. The youthful standard bearer has a bright future in politics. He may challenge Gillibrand for the Senate. The delegation to the House is vibrant and talented. Momentum is on our side. Down and Out. The state of the 2 party system in New York is a study in contrasts !!
