Stinging Rebuke. The full Senate on Wednesday voted down the Hector LaSalle nomination. It was a major setback for Kathy Hochul. She gambled and came up short. She staked her political capital in support of Judge LaSalle. Democrats from her own party opposed him overwhelmingly. He was seen as anti-union, anti-abortion, and anti-due process. Stinging Rebuke.
