Blaming Cancel Culture. That was the theme of Cuomo’s address yesterday. He chose as a venue a Black church in Brooklyn. It was his first public appearance since resigning in disgrace 6 months ago. He railed against those who conspired to bring him down: “The actions against me were prosecutorial misconduct. They used cancel culture to effectively overturn an election.” Throughout his speech he used Biblical metaphors such as crossing a bridge. Foreshadowing a political comeback he continued, “The Bible teaches perseverance, it teaches us to get off the mat. They broke my heart but they didn’t break my spirit. I want to take the energy that could have made me bitter and make us better.” Reaction was swift from Attorney General Letitia James camp: “Serial sexual harasser Andrew Cuomo won’t even spare a house of worship from his lies. Even though multiple independent investigations found his victims to be credible, Cuomo continues to blame everyone but himself.” The ex Governors performance had the makings of a campaign stump speech. Blaming Cancel Culture. Stay tuned as he defiantly re-enters the public arena !!
