Do The Right Thing and Resign

Andrew Cuomo must do the right thing and resign. After all the grief he has caused New Yorkers, spare us from protracted impeachment proceedings. There is too much damage to repair. The walls are closing in on all sides. The Governor has been exposed as a vindictive, authoritarian bully. He is arguably guilty of criminal offenses. The FBI and Department of Justice have opened inquiries. Bipartisan support is growing in the Legislature to strip him of his emergency executive powers. That is not enough. He must exit the State House. This would derail his further political ambitions. New Yorkers have needlessly endured his misrule. The time is now to resign so that the healing can begin.
