Andrew Cuomo is looking at eroding power. The scandals engulfing his administration have rendered him politically impotent. No where is this more evident than his caving in on the state budget. Usually accustomed to imposing his will on the process, he now acquiesces to the powers that be. Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie currently call the shots. Cousins has called for his resignation and Heastie has launched an investigation into the wrongdoing. The Legislature is forcing through major tax increases on the wealthy and corporations. The Governor had long opposed such measuring, fearing they would prompt an exodus of successful individuals and businesses from the state. He is powerless to say boo. The resultant vacuum is undermining the economic future of New York. The time is now to resolve the crisis. Cuomo must go before there is further damage to the Empire State. No where is this more apparent than in the overdue budget that reflects his Eroding Power.
